There are many museums in the world. There are art, science, history, and many other types of museums. But which museum was the most popular in 2015? The answer is easy. For the fourth year in a row, the Louvre, in Paris, France, is the most popular museum. The Museum Index says that in 2015, 8.7 million visitors went to the Louvre. The Louvre has many popular art displays. They include the Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo, and the Code of Hammurabi. Last year, 106.5 million people visited the top 20 museums. This number was less than in 2014, which had 107.3 million visitors. The difference in the number of visitors is due to the different temporary exhibits. London had six museums on the list. Washington, D.C. had four. Paris and New York were tied in third place with two museums each.
