To walk out on someone
To leave; usually on bad terms

Joel: Why are you all alone tonight? I thought Tiffany was coming with you.
Don: Tiffany walked out on me last night.
Joel: I’m sorry to hear that. What happened?
Don: I told her the truth. I told her I didn’t want to marry her.

"To walk out on" is an example of a phrasal verb. Sometimes, there are phrasal verbs with related meanings. For example, a person can “run away from” someone or “walk away from” someone. The only difference is the speed that the person moves away at.
“To Run out on someone” has a similar meaning to “to walk out on someone.”
