The blue light from electronics can affect sleep. Looking at blue light before bed causes the body to create less melatonin. Melatonin is an important sleep hormone. Scientists say that people can wear orange glasses to block the bluelight.
Orange glasses were popular for many years in the United States. They are called “blue blockers.” Now, some gamers wear them to play games at night. They say they sleep better after playing. There are apps that control blue light too. The app f.lux is for computers. Users can set it to begin at a specific time. Twilight and Blue light Filter are apps for smartphones and tablets. One more option is to not use electronics before bed.
