A new city is quickly becoming a popular art destination, and it is not New York or Paris. It is Hong Kong. In the past, this famous island was not an art center. However, in 2013, the large art show Art Basal opened in Hong Kong. Suddenly, the world was very interested in Hong Kong art. Chang Tsong-zungowns the famous Hanart TZ gallery. He said that the last few years were “a huge transformation.”

Hong Kong is now the third largest art auction center in the world. Artists in Hong Kong reflect the evolving social and political world around them. Visitors to the area should look in unexpected places to find incredible art. For example, the Cattle Depot Artist Village used to be a slaughterhouse. Now, the building has a collection of art studios and galleries.
