Google is a technology company. It collects large amounts of information every day. It has the personal information of billions of people. Google knows the sites that people visit on the internet, and where they shop online. Google is working with advertising companies, and sharing this information with them. Many countries want to protect their people’s privacy, and want more information from Google about its data.
The Netherlands is working with other European countries to change Google’s rules about personal information. These countries want Google to share how it uses people’s information. They also want Google to ask users before it uses their information, too. The Netherlands wants Google to pay money for using personal information without asking. The Dutch government believes that their people control their information, not Google.
