Mata Amritanandamayi is from a smallvillage in the south of India. She is nowcalled Amma, the Mother of All. Amma isa hindu spiritual leader. Some peoplethink that she is a saint. She works tohelp people who are poor have a betterlife. She also travels to many countries.Once there, she talks to people abouthow they can help. Recently, she wentto the Vatican to meet with PopeFrancis.
The Pope invited people from manyreligions to sign a commitment againstslavery. The goal was to teach peopleabout human trafficking. The GlobalFreedom Network put the eventtogether. Human trafficking is the takingof people, usually women and children,and selling them. The group is workingto stop the practice by 2020. The GFNrecommends that people ask questionsabout the use of children in factories.
