Gustave Eiffel’s Secret Apartment

The Eiffel Tower is a famous piece of architecture in Paris, France. Gustave Eiffel built the Eiffel Tower in the 1880s. The city opened the tower to the publicin 1889. Thousands of tourists visit the famous tower every year, and taking pictures of the tower is a popular activity. In the recent past, tourists did not visit one specific part of the tower; however, the city just opened this secret place to tourists. It is Gustave Eiffel’s private apartment. 

Eiffel’s apartment was not a secret in the 1890s. Many rich and famous Paris aristocrats wanted to see this amazing place. The apartment was the highest in the city at that time. They tried to give Eiffel large amounts of money to visit the apartment and spend the night there. Eiffel did not want their money. He did science experiments in his apartment and invited famous scientists like Thomas Edison to visit.
