In July 1808, there was a shipwreck inthe Fiji islands. This was the first timeChinese people came to Fiji. After sometime, the two different cultures sharedfood. They started to make Fijian-Asianfusion foods. Today, Chef Lance Seetohas a delicious Fijian-Asian fusion menu.He calls it the “1808 menu.” Chef Seetoserves his fusion food at the LaliSandbar & Grill. The restaurant is at theCastaway Island Resort in Fiji.

Chef Seeto’s recipes show the best ofFijian and Chinese food. Plus, they arealso very healthy. This is because Fijianand Chinese foods are usually healthy.There are many “superfoods” on theisland like young green coconuts andherbs from the resort’s garden. ChefSeeto cooks with these foods. Hemakes delicious things like Fiji chickencooked with lemongrass tea and grilledmeat with fresh fruit jam.
